Senior Unity Developer

As a Senior Unity Developer at Xpress Gaming, your primary responsibility will be to write clean, scalable code while also considering game architecture, performance, and player experience. You will be instrumental in shaping gameplay systems, providing guidance to junior developers, and seeing hyper-casual game titles through from concept to launch. Your key responsibilities will include architecting, implementing, and maintaining core game features using Unity (C#), driving rapid prototyping and iterating on gameplay mechanics for hyper-casual games, collaborating with design, art, and product teams to transform ideas into polished player experiences, profiling and optimizing game performance on various mobile devices, troubleshooting complex bugs, conducting code reviews, and promoting clean, modular codebases. Additionally, you will mentor junior developers and cultivate a culture of technical excellence while implementing scalable multiplayer features using Photon, SmartFox Server, or similar networking solutions. Staying up-to-date with Unity advancements, mobile trends, and best practices in game tech will also be a part of your role. To be successful in this position, you should have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Unity development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality games from prototype to live ops. Strong exposure to mobile and hyper-casual game development is essential. You should be an expert in Unity (C#) with solid architecture and game programming fundamentals, possess experience in mobile performance optimization, animation systems, and UI/UX, and have proficiency in multiplayer/networked game development using tools like Photon and SFS. Familiarity with shaders, graphics optimization techniques, and version control tools like Git is also required. In addition to technical skills, you should demonstrate strong analytical thinking and debugging abilities, the capacity to lead and collaborate in a cross-functional team environment, and excellent communication and mentoring skills. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, a passion for gaming with a deep understanding of game genres and market trends, and experience in leading technical projects or small pods.
