Senior Test Engineer (Warehouse Management)

WMS warehouse management system Blue yonder experience.

Key responsibilities

• Test Strategy and Planning:

  Develop and document comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans for Blue Yonder WMS implementations and enhancements.

• Test Case Creation and Execution:

  Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases covering various WMS functionalities, including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management.

• Environment Management:

  Work with technical teams to set up and maintain test environments, including data setup and configuration validation.

• Defect Management:

  Log defects accurately, track them through their lifecycle, and perform root cause analysis for issues identified during testing phases.

• Cross-functional Collaboration:

  Work closely with business analysts, developers, and project managers to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure the quality of the delivered solution.

• User Acceptance Testing (UAT):

  Support and participate in UAT, ensuring the system meets user needs and business objectives.

• Automation and Tools:

  Utilize test automation tools to improve efficiency and test coverage. Experience with tools like Selenium or other scripting languages may be required.

• Mentorship:

  Mentor junior test engineers and provide leadership in test activities.

• Documentation:

  Ensure all testing activities are properly documented, including test scripts, results, and defect reports.

Required skills and qualifications

• Experience:

  Proven experience as a Senior Test Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

• System Expertise:

  In-depth knowledge of Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) WMS and its various modules.

• Testing Methodologies:

  Strong understanding of testing methodologies, processes, and best practices.

• Test Tools:

  Experience with test management and automation tools.

• Technical Skills:

  Experience with SQL, scripting languages (e.g., Unix Shell), and an understanding of IT infrastructure is often beneficial.

• Problem-Solving:

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Communication:

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and business teams.
