Job Description

Role Overview: As a Senior Telephony Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design and plan telephony solutions and integrate them into the overall IT infrastructure. You will be required to conduct research on emerging telephony technologies and make recommendations for improvements. Additionally, you will provide technical assistance for telephony-related issues as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and support TELUS International's global telephony operations to ensure continuous availability and reliability of the TI Telephony system. - Resolve telephony P1/P2 incidents and outages, including complex issues when necessary. - Design and plan the company's telephony infrastructure, monitor system health, and maintain high-quality voice communication. - Analyze telephony requirements in depth and document them for new customer launches and complex changes. - Collaborate with other technology teams to integrate telephony systems with enterprise applications for seamless communication. - Conduct capacity planning to anticipate and meet the organization's growing telecommunications needs, ensuring scalability and performance optimization. - Maintain accurate documentation of telephony configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. - Review and approve Method of Procedures for changes implemented by Telephony Administrators to ensure consistency with architecture frameworks. - Engage telephony vendors for contract negotiation, service level agreement management, and stay updated on emerging telephony technologies. - Provide technical expertise and support related to telephony infrastructure to other technology teams as the third point of contact. - Serve as a backup lead/manager as needed and support pre-sales requirements while participating in budgetary exercises. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Telecommunications or Information Technology. - Minimum of X years of experience in telephony engineering and operations. - Strong knowledge of telephony systems, protocols, and technologies. - Experience with capacity planning, system design, and integration with enterprise applications. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Certification in relevant telephony technologies (e.g., Cisco, Avaya) is a plus.
