Senior Technical Specialist

Role Overview: As a Senior Technical Specialist within the Nokia Converged Charging R&D team in Gurgaon, you will be instrumental in developing advanced features for the Nokia Converged Charging product. Your Java expertise will play a crucial role in analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions for complex customer-reported issues and contributing to innovative feature development. Your insights in design discussions and skills in addressing performance challenges will ensure the product remains competitive in the industry. Key Responsibilities: - Understand and refine customer or internal product feature requirements, proposing design alternatives for comprehensive coverage of both functional and non-functional aspects. - Collaborate within agile sprint teams to plan, design, code, and unit-test, including automating JUnit tests and ensuring appropriate code coverage. - Analyze and resolve bugs reported during testing phases, interact with developers from other teams for integrated solutions, and support deployment and testing activities. - Debug and fix bugs reported from customer labs and production systems, providing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions. - Assist in conducting interviews, provide on-job training, mentor junior team members, and suggest/develop new tools and process improvements for enhanced efficiency. - Respond to customer queries, support the services team, work independently while providing accurate status reports, and exhibit a flexible, proactive, and self-motivated approach under pressure. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree (Telecom/Computers/IT) or MCA with 8 to 10+ years of relevant experience in Java, J2EE application server environments, Java Design patterns, and various Java Frameworks. - Proficiency in Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML), Data Structures and Algorithms, data modeling techniques, and designing/coding for scalability. - Hands-on experience with Linux OS-based systems and strong debugging skills using IDEs like Eclipse or IntelliJ. - Experience with Diameter/4G interfaces (base protocol, Gy, Sy, and Ro interfaces). - Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTP2, HTTPS, and Web Technologies (HTML, Javascript, JQuery) is a plus. - Familiarity with Maven, Ant, or Gradle Scripts. - Ability to use AI-assisted development and vibe coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor, or similar, with a good understanding of AI concepts.
