Senior Systems Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Windows Server Administration:

• Active Directory Management:

  Administer and support Active Directory, including Group Policy management, user account provisioning, and domain controller maintenance.

• DNS & DHCP Administration:

  Configure and troubleshoot DNS and DHCP to ensure efficient network management and connectivity.

• Virtualization (VMware & Nutanix):

  Design, deploy, and manage virtual environments using VMware vSphere and Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI). Optimize virtualization resources for high availability, performance, and scalability.

• Project Implementation:

  Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects from concept through to delivery. This includes planning, documentation, resource allocation, and post-implementation reviews.

• PowerShell Scripting:

  Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks, streamline processes, and enhance system functionality.

• Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution:

  Provide expert-level troubleshooting to resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues. Ensure root cause analysis is conducted for recurring issues.

• End-User Support:

  Act as an escalation point for Tier 2/3 support, ensuring timely and effective resolution of incidents. Assist with technical issues impacting business-critical operations.

• Security and Compliance:

  Ensure that systems comply with relevant security policies, procedures, and standards. Implement measures to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of data.

• Backup & Disaster Recovery:

  Manage backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to ensure system and data recovery in case of hardware or software failure.

• Documentation:

  Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and project implementations.

• Certifications:

o Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent certifications.

o VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar virtualization certifications.

o Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

o Familiarity with networking technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
