Senior System Administrator

As a Senior System Administrator at Cogniter Technologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of IT services in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include: - Configuring, maintaining, and optimizing physical and virtual servers, systems, and IT hardware for high availability and reliability. - Managing and supporting network infrastructure components like LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and switches. - Providing timely technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues to minimize operational downtime. - Monitoring system and network performance using industry-standard tools and addressing potential issues proactively. - Implementing and enforcing IT security policies, including firewall configurations, antivirus solutions, access controls, and vulnerability management. - Ensuring data integrity and availability through scheduled backups, system snapshots, and disaster recovery planning. - Installing, configuring, patching, and updating applications, operating systems, and system software. - Troubleshooting complex technical problems across servers, networks, and user endpoints with a focus on swift resolution. - Maintaining detailed documentation on system configurations, network diagrams, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides. - Collaborating closely with the IT team during system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects. - Staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in system administration and IT security. Qualifications: - 3 to 6 years of proven professional experience in system administration, IT infrastructure management, or IT support roles. Technical Skills: - Proficiency with Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019) and/or Linux system administration. - Understanding of networking protocols and services like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs. - Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account lifecycle. - Skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues. - Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures. - Knowledge of IT security frameworks, firewalls, endpoint security, and compliance standards. Soft Skills: - Analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with technical teams and non-technical users. - Ability to document processes clearly and maintain operational records.
