Senior Structural Engineer Buildings

As a Senior Structural Engineer/Specialist in the Buildings department in Chennai, you will play a crucial role in driving the design process of structural engineering services for building and industrial projects. Your responsibilities will include supporting and developing feasibility studies, preparing project design basis, and detailed designs according to client requirements. You will also lead a team of engineers, prepare project plans, maintain document control, and ensure project KPIs are met. Key Responsibilities: - Support and develop feasibility studies, project design basis, and detailed designs for Structural Engineering services in buildings and industrial projects - Lead a team of engineers to deliver design work packages, support junior staff, and ensure project milestones are achieved - Prepare activity-time-resource plans, maintain document control, and meet all project KPIs - Coordinate across disciplines, offer sustainable solutions, review and certify the quality of design deliverables - Lead internal meetings, update project progress, make major design decisions, and disseminate information within the team Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's in Civil Engineering / Master's in Structural Engineering with 8-15 years of experience in design of RCC, steel, and precast structures - Proficiency in structural software like ROBOT/FEM design, ETABS, SAFE; knowledge of REVIT Structure and Navisworks preferred - Familiarity with International Codes related to Structural engineering (EURO, BS.EN, ACI, AISE Standards) - Strong project management skills, communication skills, and willingness to learn new advancements in the design industry - Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel About the Company: At COWI, we collaborate with customers to shape a sustainable world by applying knowledge, curiosity, and courage to create solutions for a better tomorrow.
