Senior SQL Developer

The Senior SQL Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database systems, including SSIS projects and custom reports. This role involves collaborating with the data team to address SQL issues and ensure efficient data management within a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include developing SSIS projects for ETL, transmission, encryption, and archiving of files, as well as SQL database tuning and performance optimization. The Senior SQL Developer will design, develop, and maintain database tables, stored procedures, and supporting objects, and build operational reports for both the company and clients. Additionally, they will work with the data team to provide operational support, resolve recurring problems, and document database topology, architecture, processes, and procedures. The role also involves developing SQL queries, supporting ad hoc data requests, assisting with capacity planning and resource expansion through data aggregation and analysis, and ensuring that reports and metrics align with business needs and opportunities for process improvement. The Senior SQL Developer will identify inefficiencies in the database platform, propose solutions, and use problem-solving skills to resolve business problems. They will develop analytical skills to address technical issues, identify root causes of problems, and prevent recurring issues. Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, a minimum of five years of experience as a Database engineer or in a related role, at least three years of extensive SSRS/SSIS/T-SQL experience, and a minimum of two years of experience with C# and/or VB.NET. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices, as well as the ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and design stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints. Other requirements include extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012 or later with a focus on query performance, familiarity with troubleshooting potential issues and best practices in database operations, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, integrity, dependability, urgency, and results orientation. The candidate should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interactions. This role is fully remote with US hours (night shift) and entails occasional physical demands such as moving around the work area, sitting, performing manual tasks, and operating office equipment. The mental demands include following directions, collaborating with others, and handling stress, while the work environment typically has minimal noise levels.,
