In the position of Tech Lead for Android Onboarding at Google Play in Bengaluru, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading a new engineering team. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) for Android users, aiming to create a seamless initial setup process that ensures a positive user experience. Your responsibilities will include defining the technical direction and strategy for features that facilitate quick and reliable data transfer and app restoration for users. You will lead initiatives to improve speed and reliability across various Android devices and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), expand Play-powered restore solutions, and reduce sign-in friction. Your contributions will directly impact the first impression of billions of Android users worldwide, significantly influencing user satisfaction and driving in-store business growth. Google Play provides a platform for users to access music, movies, books, apps, and games across devices through cloud synchronization. As a member of the Android and Mobile team, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks, from backend system engineering to product strategy development and content partnership management. Your work will enable users to seamlessly access purchased content across different devices, enhancing the Android ecosystem and providing developers and partners with a premium store to reach a vast user base.
