We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with specialized expertise in SkySpark to join our team. This role requires a strong technical foundation in building scalable, distributed systems and will involve working with building management systems while supporting our production environment across global time zones.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain backend services with a focus on API development and WebSocket implementations that can handle heavy traffic and scale efficiently
Create and enhance SkySpark Functions, Rules, and Extensions to support our building management systems
Develop and deploy microservices in Azure Cloud environments
Implement message-driven and event-driven architectures
Support the production environment, including incident response and resolution
Participate in the entire software development lifecycle including CI/CD processes

Required Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python for API development and WebSocket implementation
Minimum 3+ years experience with SkySpark, including Fantom and Axon programming for developing Functions, Rules, and Extensions
Experience with Azure Cloud services and microservices architecture
Demonstrated experience with message-driven and event-driven development using technologies such as MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar systems
Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth, OIDC, and Federated Identity
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and commitment to automation and high-quality software development
Availability to work in alignment with US West Coast morning hours
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to support production environments and contribute to incident management

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Building Management System (BMS) protocols including BACnet, Modbus, OPC, and Niagara
Knowledge of distributed computing principles and practices
Experience working in a global team across multiple time zones
Background in IoT or building automation systems

Knowledge of Cursor AI Code Editor, AngularTS/React.JS and/or any other GenAI / AgenticAI tools is Plus
Knowledge of performance optimization techniques,
Thorough understanding of AngularTS/React.JS and its core principles.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and related libraries/frameworks.
Proficiency in UI/UX design principles and responsive web design.
Experience with RESTful APIs integration and JSON.
Solid understanding of version control systems (such as Git).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Bachelor s degree in computer science or Web Development.
