Senior Software Engineer - Java

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using a modern Java stack with PostgreSQL as the backend. The key responsibilities include designing and developing scalable web applications using Java, Spring MVC, REST APIs, JSP, and JSTL. You will write clean, modular, and maintainable front-end code using Bootstrap and jQuery. Additionally, you will create and maintain database structures and queries in PostgreSQL. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver quality software is a crucial aspect of the role. You will be tasked with ensuring the performance, security, and responsiveness of applications. Participation in code reviews and mentoring junior team members will be expected. Troubleshooting and resolving production issues as needed is also part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong proficiency in Java with at least 4 years of hands-on experience. Deep understanding of the Spring MVC framework and solid experience with JSP, JSTL, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and jQuery are required skills. A strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases is essential. Experience in developing RESTful services and integrating APIs is also necessary. A good understanding of the software development life cycle and best practices is expected. Preferred qualifications include experience with performance tuning and optimization, familiarity with Git or similar version control systems, exposure to Agile/Scrum development processes, and the ability to write SQL procedures and functions.
