Description
As a Senior Software Engineer at Rockwell Automation, you will contribute to the software development team throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle. This includes development and testing activities for industry-leading commercial software that is known for its innovation and usability. You will specifically work on real-time scalable features based on Rockwells Manufacturing Execution System (MES), which are often integrated with machine automation and control systems, as well as ERP software. Your role will involve active participation in requirements development, leading architectural design, coding, and testing at all stages of the software development lifecycle. Collaboration with multiple global teams is essential, and you will work in large project teams. Your Responsibilities: - Develop and document code that aligns with the software design and the development process. - Create unit test plans, debug, and correct anomalies, integrating with other components to produce the final product. - Participate in reviews of documents, design, code, test cases, and user documentation. - Provide work estimates and status reports, ensuring assigned tasks are prioritized. - Support PI planning and participate in Sprint Planning, including the breakdown of user stories into smaller tasks. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. - 6 years of experience in new product design of software or software systems, including background with large-scale enterprise system development projects using Java. - 2 Years of experience in the review process (design review, code review). Additional Details: Joining Rockwell Automation's Software Development group will give you the opportunity to work with reliable and well-thought-out engineering and software development practices such as SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework). You will report to the Team Lead, Software Engineering and have a hybrid schedule working in Hinjewadi, Pune, India. Preferred Qualifications: - Hands-on expertise with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented designs in Java. - In-depth understanding of multiple design patterns for enterprise applications. - Experience with Backend technologies, UX technologies, Core Java, J2EE, Spring, UI development with Java Swing clients, and web technologies (Vaadin, JavaScript, Angular). - Proficiency in Object-Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns. - Database design and programming skills in SQL Server and/or Oracle. - Familiarity with common development tools like Eclipse, SVN, GitLab, JUnit, JIRA, Jenkins, ANT, and Maven. - Experience in the manufacturing domain, particularly in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry. - Knowledge of modern software delivery practices like rapid prototyping, CI/CD, containerization, virtualization, and various test strategies like TDD / BDD. - Experience with security, data communication, and contemporary user interface technologies in an enterprise environment. - Familiarity with working in the SAFe methodology.
