Senior Software Engineer, Card Solutions

Role Overview: As a Senior Software Engineer in the Card Engineering team at Reap, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining services that power card transactions, fraud detection, card lifecycle management, and developer-facing APIs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the core infrastructure used globally by clients, partners, and developers. Key Responsibilities: - Design and build backend services for card transaction processing, fraud detection, and/or card program management. - Contribute to system architecture with a focus on performance, fault tolerance, and maintainability. - Collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver robust, compliant financial systems. - Write clean, observable, and well-tested code in a service-oriented architecture. - Participate in code reviews, incident response, and reliability improvements. - Help evolve engineering practices, tools, and system designs as the company scales. Areas You Might Work On: Depending on your fit and team needs, you could work in one of the following sub-teams: - Transaction & Risk: Real-time transaction processing, fraud detection, risk scoring, etc. - Client Program Operations: Pre-funding, balance tracking, billing systems, etc. - Card Management & Logistics: Card issuance, tokenization, self-serve client tools, etc. - Developer Platform: API gateway, webhooks, internal dev tools, etc. Qualifications Required: Minimum Requirements: - 6+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in fintech or platform teams. - Experience in building backend systems using a typed language (e.g., TypeScript, Java, Go, etc.). - Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts and async processing. - Ability to balance correctness, performance, and maintainability effectively. - Comfortable working in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in card networks, compliance systems, or regulatory constraints. - Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and AWS. - Previous work in high-growth startups or platforms with external APIs.
