Senior Software Engineer Backend

The Senior Software Engineer (Backend) position at Vantage Circle in Guwahati requires a candidate with 3-4+ years of experience and a BE/B.Tech or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field. As the company experiences rapid growth, they are in search of enthusiastic technologists to contribute to the development of scalable backend services supporting their products. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying critical backend components while also providing guidance to team members and ensuring technical excellence. Your main responsibilities will include designing and building robust, scalable backend systems and APIs in alignment with industry best practices, taking ownership of complex backend architecture, leading development projects, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation to enhance system performance and maintainability. The preferred tech stack for this role includes programming languages such as Scala (preferred) and Java, frameworks like Play Framework or similar Java-based frameworks, databases including MySQL and MongoDB, and tools like Git, Jenkins CI/CD, and Docker. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of object-oriented and functional programming paradigms, experience in designing RESTful APIs and building scalable microservices, knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, familiarity with performance tuning and distributed system design, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment.
