Senior Software Engineer, Back End Team

Role Overview: As a developer in the Agoda Platform team, you will be responsible for working on mission critical systems that involve designing and developing APIs to handle millions of user search requests daily. You will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art languages like Scala and Go, data technologies like Kafka and Hadoop, and agile development practices. Additionally, you will collaborate with product and technology leaders to translate feature requirements into software designs, work on different mission-critical systems to implement complete features, and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code. Key Responsibilities: - Develop performance-critical applications using languages such as Scala, Java, Python, or similar with at least 5 years of experience - Possess knowledge of RDBMS systems like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySql - Familiarity with core engineering infrastructure tools like Git for source control, Gitlab for Continuous Integration, Docker containers, and Kubernetes for deployment - Strong command of the English language - Demonstrate passion for software development and continuous improvement of knowledge and skills Qualifications Required: - Experience in NoSQL databases (especially Cassandra), Queueing system (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, MSMQ), Hadoop, Play framework, Akka library is a plus Agoda: Agoda is an online travel booking platform that connects travelers with a global network of 4.7M hotels and holiday properties worldwide, flights, activities, and more.
