Senior Software Development Test Engineer (Backend API Testing)

As a member of the Data Platform and Analytics team at Guidewire, you will be joining a team that owns, builds, and operates Guidewire's cloud-native data platform and analytics SaaS offerings. Our data platform is designed to be enterprise-grade, internet-scale, and cloud-native, providing mission-critical insights and decision-making capabilities to our customers. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment using cutting-edge technologies to build next-generation platforms and services. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and develop test automation for cloud-native data platform and analytics SaaS services - Participate in Agile development process to test and automate features within a sprint - Build automation framework and tools - Test and automate micro-services and analytics SaaS solutions - Drive testing and automation for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) of services - Develop test strategy for scalability, availability, and data security of services **Qualifications Required:** - Good programming skills in Java, Python, or any scripting language - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for triaging issues in a complex multi-tier environment - Understanding of testing distributed systems concepts such as consistency, availability, and fault-tolerance - Expertise in REST API testing and automation using tools like Karate and Cucumber - Familiarity with UI testing and automation tools like Selenium WebDriver and TestCafe - Experience with security testing in cloud-native services - Eagerness to learn new technologies and passionate about technology - Comfortable working with Kubernetes and Docker If you have 5+ years of work experience, a passion for automating large-scale multi-tenant cloud-native data platforms, and emphasize team wins over individual success, you could succeed in this role. Strong technical interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with development, product management, and operations teams. Additionally, expertise in testing with Kafka, experience with containers technology, and the ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment are required.
