Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain System Health:

  Keep mission-critical systems running smoothly with high uptime and strong performance.

• Automate Everything:

  Build and maintain automation tools and scripts to make operations faster and more efficient.

• Monitor Proactively:

  Create and manage dashboards, alerts, and monitoring pipelines to catch issues early.

• Own Incidents:

  Lead the response during outages, drive root-cause analysis, and help prevent repeat issues.

• Optimize Performance:

  Continuously tune systems for better speed, scalability, and overall efficiency.

• Ensure Security:

  Apply security best practices across infrastructure and workflows.

• Document Clearly:

  Maintain well-structured documentation for systems, procedures, and technical decisions.

• On-Call Support:

  Join the on-call rotation to provide around-the-clock support for important systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees are a bonus).
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in roles involving both software engineering and systems administration.

Technical Expertise

• Programming:

  Strong hands-on skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.

• Cloud:

  Deep experience working with AWS services.

• Infrastructure as Code:

  Solid experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

• Containers & Orchestration:

  Advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (must have).
• Familiarity with ecosystem tools like ArgoCD, Linkerd, Prometheus, Karpenter, etc.

• Monitoring & Logging:

  Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Loki stacks.

• CI/CD:

  Practical experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.

• Networking:

  Strong understanding of core networking concepts, protocols, and security practices.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and cross-functional.
• Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Ability to work independently in remote environments.
