We are looking for an experienced Lead / Senior Shopify Developer to join our dynamic development team at MG Marketsoft India Pvt. Ltd. In this role, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining efficient, scalable, user-friendly and high-quality web applications using the Shopify Ecosystem. You will also mentor junior developers, oversee best practices, and ensure the successful execution of projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the build and improvement of Shopify stores, themes, and apps. Write clean, tested code that follows Shopify best practices.
• Plan how themes and data are structured (sections, app blocks, metafields/metaobjects).
• Build advanced features with Liquid and JS/TS using Shopify APIs (Storefront/Admin/AJAX).
• Set up and improve payments, shipping, taxes, Markets, andon Pluscheckout with Checkout Extensibility and Shopify Functions.
• Connect stores to third-party tools (analytics, email/CRM, ERP/PIM, payments, shipping) via APIs and webhooks.
• Keep sites fast, accessible, SEO-friendly, and fully responsive; watch Core Web Vitals.
• Review code, write clear docs, set standards, mentor teammates, and create reusable sections/blocks.
• Troubleshoot production issues, find root causes, and prevent repeat problems.

Requirements

• 4 to 10 years in end-to-end development with strong, hands-on Shopify experience with multiple launches.
• Expert with Liquid and Online Store 2.0 (JSON templates, sections everywhere, app blocks, metafields/metaobjects, Theme/App Extensions).
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS; proven ability to build fast, responsive, accessible themes.
• Solid with Shopify APIs (Storefront GraphQL, Admin REST/GraphQL, AJAX), webhooks, and common app integrations.
• Working knowledge of Checkout Extensibility and Shopify Functions (discounts, validations, shipping/payment logic).
• Comfortable with Git; familiar with Shopify CLI and environment setups.
• Able to handle light back-end/legacy work in PHP/MySQL/AJAX when needed.
• Experience migrating sites to Shopify with proper redirects and SEO care.
• Strong debugging and performance skills; you use GA4/Lighthouse/DevTools to guide fixes.
• You mentor others, communicate clearly, and work well with design, product, and marketing.
• Shopify Plus (B2B, Markets, custom checkout) and/or headless experience (Next.js/Remix + Storefront API).
