Senior Scientist in Antibody-based Therapeutics

You will be working as a senior member in the Centre for Cancer Immunology at Southampton General Hospital, a prestigious research building with top-notch facilities. The centre has a rich history of immunology and cancer research, and it is the first of its kind in the UK. Your role will be associated with the laboratory of Professors Sally Ward and Raimund Ober, focusing on protein engineering for novel antibody-based therapeutics. The research program has yielded approved therapeutics and is backed by major grants from renowned organizations. Key Responsibilities: - Managing research projects and overseeing in vitro and in vivo cellular assays - Supervising junior technicians and training laboratory members in immunological and in vivo techniques - Collaborating within the group to enhance research productivity Qualifications Required: - Scientific knowledge equivalent to a Ph.D. level with 2-3 years of additional experience - Expertise in immunological assays, flow cytometry, microscopy analyses, and project management - Experience in expressing and purifying recombinant proteins/antibodies is desirable - Relevant academic qualifications, work experience, and good IT skills are necessary The initial term for this position in the Ward/Ober laboratory is two years, subject to current grant support.
