Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP BTP Developer with deep expertise in SAP Build Process Automation (BPA) to design, implement, and optimize intelligent workflows and automation solutions across our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with SAP BTP components, strong integration skills, and the ability to translate business processes into scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Build Process Automation (Primary Focus)

• Design, develop, and deploy automation workflows using SAP Build Process Automation, including process automation, decision logic, forms, and bots.
• Build end-to-end workflow automations for SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, and custom applications.
• Create custom process visibility dashboards and KPIs to track automation performance and SLAs.
• Implement automation governance, reuse libraries, and best practices across projects.

SAP BTP Development (Must Have)

• Develop applications using SAP BTP services such as Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAP Build Apps, SAP Integration Suite, and SAP Workflow Management.
• Develop custom Fiori applications using standard floor plans and free style applications with UI5
• Create OData/REST services and custom business logic using Node.js, Java, or CAP.
• Work with SAP BTP Destinations, XSUAA authentication, JWT tokens, and secure connectivity.
• Design and deploy multi-tenant applications when required.
• Experience in deployment models using AI core and AI launchpad is a plus.

Integration & Extensions (Nice to have)

• Knowledge / Experience on Integration BTP solutions with on-prem and cloud systems using SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration/CPI, API Management, Event Mesh) is a plus.
• Implement side-by-side extensibility for S/4HANA using BTP.
• Enhance and automate business processes through API consumption, event-driven architecture, and microservices.

Technical Leadership

• Collaborate with functional consultants, process owners, and business SMEs to identify automation opportunities.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and mentor junior developers.
• Support production deployments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP, including Build Process Automation.

Strong expertise in:

• Process automations, workflow modelling, decision management
• SAP Build Apps (preferred)
• SAP Integration Suite (CPI, API Mgmt., Event Mesh)
• CAP (Node.js/Java), OData V2/V4, CDS
• SAP UI5/Fiori (optional but beneficial)
• Experience integrating with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SuccessFactors, Ariba, or 3rd-party systems.
• Strong understanding of BTP security, destinations, OAuth, and roles collections.

Functional & Process Knowledge

• Good understanding of business processes in Finance, Procurement, HR, or Supply Chain.
• Ability to convert process diagrams into automation designs.
• Experience with BPMN, event-driven workflows, and SLA-based automations.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical streams.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP BTP Developer Certification
• SAP Build Process Automation Certification (or proven project experience)
• Experience in Hyper automation using AI/ML services on BTP
• Exposure to RPA tools (UiPath/Automation Anywhere)
• Experience migrating from SAP Workflow to SAP BPA
