Senior Research Analyst - Mutual funds

The responsibilities of this role include conducting in-depth research and due diligence on mutual funds across different categories such as equity, debt, and hybrid. You will be responsible for evaluating fund performance, risk metrics, strategy, Total Expense Ratio (TER), and fund manager track records. Additionally, you will be developing model portfolios tailored to various risk profiles and investment needs. Monitoring market trends, SEBI/AMFI regulations, and fund industry developments will also be part of your responsibilities. You will assist in the empanelment of new Asset Management Companies (AMCs) and products on the NJ platform. Creating and maintaining research reports, fact sheets, and presentations for distributor education will be a key aspect of this role. Comparing funds against benchmarks and peers to identify relative strengths and weaknesses will also be required. Furthermore, preparing research reports, fact sheets, presentations, and monthly/quarterly fund review notes will be part of your duties. Supporting the sales and distribution team with insights, training, and investor communication strategies is essential. Periodically reviewing and tracking recommended fund performance and suggesting changes where necessary will also be part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position should have an MBA in Finance, and a CFA qualification is preferred (completed or in progress). A minimum of 10 years of experience in mutual fund research, investment analysis, or portfolio advisory is required. A strong understanding of the Indian mutual fund landscape and regulatory frameworks (SEBI, AMFI) is essential. Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Value Research, Morningstar India, and Bloomberg is also necessary. Key skills for this role include strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal). You should have the ability to translate research findings into distributor-friendly recommendations. A collaborative, client-centric, and solution-oriented approach is important for success in this role. Comfort working in a fast-paced, distributor-driven ecosystem is also required.
