Position: Senior Relay Design Engineer

Experience:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the

  design, development, and validation

  of electromechanical and solid-state relays for industrial, aerospace and automotive applications.
• Design and optimize relay components including coils, contacts, armature, and housing for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and design calculations to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and qualification activities as per applicable standards (IEC, MIL, or ISO), VL, IEC,
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, procurement, and testing) to ensure successful project execution, experience in proficient project management tools.
• Review design drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to design process improvements.
• Interact with suppliers for component development and validation.
• Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives in relay design.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of

  electromechanical relay design principles

  (magnetic circuits, contact materials, thermal and electrical performance).
• Proficiency in

  CAD tools

  (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with

  design validation, reliability testing, and failure analysis

  with reputed Relay manufacturing.
• Familiarity with

  relevant standards

  such as IEC, MIL, UL and automotive relay specifications.
• Good understanding of

  electromagnetic theory, materials, and manufacturing processes

  .
• Experience with reputed Relay Design and Manufacturing Companies.
• Have interacted with test and compliance, organisation like UL, TUV, BIS, CPRI etc for testing and qualification of Relay.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification:

• B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
