Senior Product Designer

About The Role

Were looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead design for Monarch’s digital ecosystem, including vehicle touchscreens, web platform, mobile app, and autonomy control systems. You’ll drive product strategy and interaction design across multiple platforms and user types, creating elegant solutions for complex, high-stakes workflows in real-world environments. You’ll lead projects from 01 and guide them through cross-functional execution, driving clarity in ambiguity and ensuring smooth handoffs to partners across engineering, product, QA, and support. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for designers who thrive at the intersection of hardware, data, and experience design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and ship end-to-end product experiences across embedded UIs, mobile apps, and web platforms, including autonomy workflows, real-time vehicle interfaces, diagnostics tools, operational dashboards, and field support tools.
• Own the design process in Figma—from early whiteboarding and information architecture to user flows, journey mapping, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototyping, and annotation.
• Translate highly technical systems (e.g., real-time autonomy, firmware updates, safety overrides, sensor data, and analytics) into intuitive interfaces with clear mental models and actionable interactions.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, firmware, and QA teams to align on requirements, validate feasibility, and ensure high-quality implementation.
• Define and explore edge cases, error states, and accessibility considerations to ensure robustness in safety-critical, field-based scenarios.
• Ensure smooth handoffs through clear documentation and walkthroughs, equipping engineering and QA with everything needed to execute independently
• Conduct or participate in user research, usability testing, and on-site field visits to understand real-world workflows and pain points.
• Lead and contribute to a scalable design system in Figma, creating reusable components, visual patterns, and documentation for fast scaling and consistency across vehicle, web, and mobile environments.
• Maintain strong design QA and implementation review, advocating for polish and fidelity to design intent.
• Champion platform-level consistency and modular scalability across all product surfaces.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years designing large-scale digital products across embedded interfaces, mobile, and web
• Proficiency in Figma, with expertise in building and maintaining design systems (components, variants, documentation, prototype flows)
• Proven experience modeling complex user journeys, decision flows, and prioritizing edge-case UX
• Strong portfolio showing products that embed technical functions: autonomy controls, sensor visualizations, diagnostics, telemetry dashboards
• Experience working in data-rich, safety-critical environments
• Excellent collaboration and communication with engineers, product, and hardware teams
• Capability to thrive in ambiguity and deliver under startup pace and complexity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing vehicle touchscreens, autonomy UIs, or embedded control surfaces
• Familiarity with sensor-driven interfaces, OTA firmware flows, GPS-guided navigation systems, and live telemetry display
• Exposure to fleet management tools, remote operations planning, or monitoring dashboards
• Understanding of industrial, robotics, or agricultural workflows
• Knowledge of accessibility practices and designing for low-connectivity or offline environments
• Experience mentoring junior designers or fostering design culture in scaling teams
