Senior Principal Engineer - Piping

The Senior Principal Engineer plays a crucial role within the organization, reporting directly to the Team Manager as the direct discipline superior. With a strong technical acumen and in-depth knowledge of Engineering principles and processes, the Senior Principal Engineer focuses on delivering safe, compliant, reliable, efficient, and practical solutions essential for engineering design and project execution. Acting as the discipline lead engineer for various proposals and projects, the Senior Principal Engineer ensures work is delivered within contractual frameworks, maintaining quality, schedule adherence, and overall cost-effectiveness to achieve the desired project outcomes. General Responsibilities: - Participate in developing and implementing engineering practices, workflows, and procedures, recommending and implementing resulting specifications and procedures. - Review work activities and projects, monitoring workflow while consulting with and making recommendations to Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Project Management Teams. - Control key parameters, benchmarks, and efficiency figures for estimating equipment, material, and man-hours. - Contribute to optimizing engineering practices, workflows, and procedures based on collected Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). - Solve problems of various complexities and coordinate training programs for Designers, Engineers, and Senior Engineers in the technical discipline. - Attend and engage in professional group meetings to stay updated on new trends and innovations in Discipline engineering. Project Execution Responsibilities: - Ensure compliance with Discipline Manual and Job Manual during project execution to meet contractual requirements. - Maintain good quality of deliverables for design work and complete Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements within allotted man-hours and schedule dates. - Ensure timely and quality review of Inter-discipline documents and vendor deliverables. - Contribute to the implementation of safety principles, standards, rules, and procedures. - Manage technical procurement activities for various types of equipment and review/approve Vendor documents. - Attend inspections as per the requirements of the inspection department and provide site assistance by responding to site queries. - Capable of performing MHRS calculations using Discipline calculation tools. Technical Community Engagement: - Participate in the Discipline-related technical community. - Contribute to the development of Discipline-related technical standards, specifications, and design criteria. - Enhance knowledge in the area of responsibility through seminars, training, and project execution. Requirements: - Education: MTech / ME, BTech / BE - Mechanical - Work Experience: 15-18 years of experience in EPC or Detail design engineering companies, specializing in projects across sectors like Oil & Gas, Energy, Refining, and Petrochemicals. - Foreign Language: Fluent in English.
