Senior Performance Test Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary owner of performance test development within the team.
• Collaborate with the performance team in the US and support projects driven by a team in Australia.
• Monitor system performance and build dashboards that combine performance and usage metrics.
• Lead the team in establishing a shared monitoring practice to proactively identify performance issues and anticipate future scaling needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve logging and instrumentation for enhanced performance monitoring.
• Conduct frontend performance testing by integrating Google Lighthouse and capturing core web vital metrics.
• Build and maintain a synthetic load harness for backend performance testing, supporting nightly performance tests and on-demand scalability tests.
• Profile slow business transactions and analyze database queries to isolate performance issues.
• Create scripts and tools for data setup, teardown, and results analysis.
• Demonstrate tools to both the functional team and the performance team.

Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on expertise in performance testing using JMeter and LoadRunner
• Solid experience in API performance testing and backend load validation
• Proficiency in Java and Ruby programming for developing test scripts and utilities
• In-depth understanding of database query tuning, profiling slow transactions, and identifying performance bottlenecks
• Experience in building synthetic load frameworks and executing scalability and endurance tests
• Ability to integrate frontend performance testing tools (e.g., Google Lighthouse) for tracking Core Web Vitals
• Strong knowledge of monitoring tools, dashboards, instrumentation, and logging enhancements
• Experience working with global cross-functional teams for coordinated performance improvements
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
