Senior Node.js/NestJS Developer

You will be joining a fast-growing SaaS-based logistics tech company that is revolutionizing the Indian transport and fleet management ecosystem. The platform you will be working on handles real-time GPS data for thousands of vehicles and processes high-volume transactional data with intelligent insights. The company is built on Node.js, NestJS, and MongoDB, and is rapidly scaling to support over 100,000 active GPS devices and logistics users. Your key responsibility will be to design and develop scalable backend services using Node.js and NestJS for the GPS-integrated logistics SaaS platform. You will be building and optimizing high-traffic, real-time APIs that process GPS data and power transport management workflows. Collaboration with product and frontend teams to implement robust and efficient solutions will also be a crucial part of your role. Additionally, you will be responsible for optimizing performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems, as well as implementing security, data validation, and error handling best practices. Maintenance and scaling of MongoDB database architecture and indexing strategies will also fall under your purview. Participation in architecture design and peer code reviews, management and improvement of the CI/CD pipeline and DevOps workflows, and staying updated with industry trends to suggest new technologies/tools where beneficial will be part of your regular tasks. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 4 years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js, with NestJS preferred. Deep knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, along with experience in writing clean, modular code, is essential. Hands-on experience with MongoDB and ORM libraries such as Mongoose is required, as well as proven experience in building and maintaining real-time, scalable applications, especially those involving GPS tracking or logistics systems. An understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and RESTful API design is crucial. Experience with message queues (e.g., Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka) is a plus. You should also have experience in handling millions of requests per day and optimizing the backend for low latency and high concurrency. Knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, Load Balancer, CloudWatch) and DNS/SSL configuration, proficiency in version control systems like Git, familiarity with unit testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, etc.), strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for building high-impact products are also necessary. Excellent communication skills and experience working in agile teams are highly valued. Nice to have for this role would include experience working in logistics, transportation, or GPS-tracking platforms, as well as knowledge of WebSockets, geofencing, and real-time data processing.,
