Senior Manager - SMT

1. Senior Manager Automation

Reporting To: Engineering Head / Plant Engineering

Role Overview

The Senior Manager Automation will lead the plant-wide automation function with a strong focus on manufacturing line automation, fixtures, pneumatics, and end-to-end automation solutions. This role is critical for improving productivity, reducing manual intervention, and driving Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Own and lead the automation function across manufacturing lines

Design, implement, and optimize line automation solutions for high-volume manufacturing

Develop and deploy fixtures, jigs, pneumatic systems, and special-purpose machines

Drive automation projects from concept to commissioning

Improve throughput, yield, and cycle time through automation

Work closely with process, equipment, quality, and production teams

Support NPI automation readiness

Manage automation vendors, integrators, and internal teams

Drive standardization and best practices across automation platforms

2. Senior Manager Equipment (SMT Surface Mount Technology)

Reporting To: Engineering Head

Role Overview

This role will own end-to-end responsibility for all SMT equipment and lines, ensuring high uptime, optimal performance, and smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Overall ownership of SMT lines management

Ensure maximum equipment uptime and line efficiency

Lead SMT equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs

Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs

Support NPI and new line setup

Drive continuous improvement in OEE and reliability

Lead and develop the SMT equipment engineering team

Coordinate with machine suppliers and service partners

3. Senior Manager SMT Process Engineering

Reporting To: Engineering Head

Role Overview

The Senior Manager SMT Process Engineering will be responsible for defining, optimizing, and sustaining robust SMT processes to achieve best-in-class quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Own SMT process development and optimization

Drive process capability, yield improvement, and defect reduction

Support NPI, process validation, and ramp-up activities

Establish process standards, controls, and documentation

Work closely with equipment, quality, and automation teams

Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process issues

Mentor and develop SMT process engineers

4. Senior Manager Testing (SMT / FATP)

Reporting To: Engineering Head

Role Overview

This role will lead testing engineering for SMT and/or FATP (Final Assembly, Testing & Packaging), ensuring product reliability, coverage, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Own test engineering strategy for SMT and/or FATP

Define and implement test coverage, methodologies, and standards

Manage ICT, FCT, system testing, and functional testing as applicable

Drive test yield improvement and failure reduction

Lead failure analysis and corrective action initiatives

Support NPI test readiness and production ramp-up

Lead and develop testing engineering teams
