Senior Manager - IDT-Excise Tax (Motor fuel tax)

As an experienced professional with strong technical awareness of global indirect tax issues, understanding of Excise tax processes and data drivers, you will be joining the Excise Tax Team at EY Global Delivery Services (GDS). Your role will involve leading a diverse, highly motivated, and collaborative team, driving continuous improvement, and leveraging the latest tax technologies to make a difference. **Role Overview:** You will have the exciting opportunity to identify, document, and recommend client business requirements for implementing Excise tax compliance processes and system improvements. Additionally, you will review and reconcile tax value notices and tax bills, interact with taxing jurisdictions to resolve discrepancies, and provide expertise on Excise Tax concepts using research tools like data handling, filings, notices, and accounting. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide input for process improvements and automation - Independently apply knowledge in the generation of tax computations/returns - Monitor changes in Excise Tax legislation and rates, incorporating changes timely into monthly procedures and updating the team - Oversee returns reviewed by Managers by following standard operating procedures - Perform second-level reviews and sign off returns reviewed by Managers - Prepare documentation and training presentations for US stakeholders as applicable - Drive the business effectively and build connections with Practice Leaders - Communicate effectively and work competently with teams in other geographic locations - Exhibit inclusive behavior in interactions with internal and external stakeholders - Manage project schedules and priorities with clear written and verbal communications - Utilize data visualization tools such as Power Query, Power BI, etc. **Qualifications Required:** - 10-12 years of experience - Bachelor's degree or Master's degree - CPA certification is preferred At EY, you will have the support and coaching from engaging colleagues, opportunities for career and learning development, EY badges, career mentoring, freedom, and flexibility to handle your role.
