Senior Manager, Engineering

Role Overview: As a member of the Strata Network Security Management Infra Leader at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a crucial role in developing and innovating solutions for the company's next-generation Firewalls. Your responsibilities will include working on various aspects such as Platform Infrastructure, Board-bringup, System Infra, Kernel Infra, Device Drivers, Certifications, Interfaces, Optics, Disk management, Online/Offline Diagnostics, and more. You will be at the forefront of innovation, developing proof of concepts, and productizing new ideas through implementation and collaboration with team members. Key Responsibilities: - Build and lead a high-performing team - Manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building, with a background in cloud and Hardware product development lifecycle - Push engineering boundaries by proposing high-quality, simple solutions to complex engineering and product problems - Maintain high quality in engineering practices, code quality, and foster a culture of engineering excellence - Take ownership of complex engineering challenges, including architecture and timelines, while collaborating with stakeholders - Champion engineering excellence, establish business metrics, and drive continuous operational improvement - Lead the development team of NextGen Firewall Platform/NPI development and deployment - Develop features and architecture for NextGen Security management with Hardware and Virtual platforms in the area of Network Security - Work with cross-functional team members to define, develop, and manage the product lifecycle - Develop scalable software and hardware-based solutions for a distributed session architecture - Contribute to feature requirements in collaboration with Product Management, Hardware, QA, Support, etc. - Bring visionary ideas for competitive edge, make effective decisions, take ownership, and lead tasks and assignments Qualifications Required: - BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience - 16+ years of strong experience in C Programming and large-scale software development - Technical knowledge in computer architecture, Systems engineering, Board bringup, Platform Drivers, Linux Kernel, DPDK, Peripherals, and SOC Bringup - Experience in High Availability and Firewall/Security is desired - Proactive attitude and ability to drive open issues to completion - Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multi-functional groups,
