A Senior Manager of Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) in an eye hospital plays a pivotal role in driving growth strategies, forging strategic partnerships, and identifying acquisition opportunities to enhance the hospital's services and market presence. The role demands a blend of strategic thinking, financial acumen, and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve the hospital's growth objectives, including market analysis, target setting, and tactical planning. Partnership Development: Identify and establish partnerships with healthcare providers, clinics, diagnostic centers, and other relevant organizations to expand service offerings and reach new patient demographics. M&A Activities: Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and integration planning. Deal Negotiation: Negotiate terms and agreements with potential partners and acquisition targets, ensuring alignment with the hospital's strategic goals and compliance with regulatory standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as finance, legal, operations, and clinical departments to assess opportunities, develop business cases, and ensure seamless execution of initiatives. Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the ophthalmic sector to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge. Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of business development initiatives, providing regular reports to senior management and recommending adjustments as necessary. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, M&A, or strategic planning within the healthcare sector, with a focus on ophthalmology or hospital services. Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities. Proven track record of successfully closing deals and driving growth initiatives. Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. In-depth understanding of the healthcare industry's regulatory environment. Personal Attributes: Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Proactive and self-motivated, with a results-driven approach. Willingness to travel as required for business development activities.
