Role Overview

Senior Linux Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage Linux servers, including installation, updates, upgrades, and patching.
• Implement and maintain Linux server security, hardening, vulnerability assessment (VA), and penetration testing (PT).
• Configure and manage Linux networking and performance tuning.
• Perform health monitoring of IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Install and set up Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, Node.js, and other required software.
• Support RFP processes for procurement of IT resources for maintenance and support of software factory applications.
• Conduct proactive monitoring of systems and applications, ensuring smooth operations.
• Provide technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Manage virtualization environments and support application deployments.

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Background:
• B.Sc (IT/CS), BCA, B.E/B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc (IT/CS/Software Systems), or PGDAC from CDAC.
• Certifications (Mandatory any one):
• Red Hat Certified Administrator/Specialist/Engineer in Linux System Administration
• LFCS (Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator)
• Red Hat Certification in Ansible (Specialist/Engineer)
• Oracle Linux Certification
• Strong expertise in:
• Linux System Administration
• Server installation, updates, upgrades, patching, and hardening
• Security management (VA/PT)
• Linux networking and performance tuning
• Health monitoring of IT systems and infrastructure

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Docker/Containers.
• Knowledge of Oracle Linux and Ubuntu distributions.
