Role Overview

SAP S/4HANA Finance Migration Lead

Key Responsibilities

1. Migration Strategy & Execution

• Architect Complex Transitions:

  Lead the end-to-end financial workstream for ECC to S/4HANA migrations, determining the optimal path (System Conversion, Bluefield/SDT, or Mix-and-Match).

• Technical Deep-Dive:

  Manage the technical nuances of the

  Universal Journal (ACDOCA)

  , New Asset Accounting, and the migration of General Ledger, AR, AP, and Banking.

• Data Integrity:

  Take full ownership of financial data reconciliation between legacy systems and S/4HANA, ensuring zero data loss and flawless audit trails.

2. Innovation & Automation

• AI-Driven Validation:

  Implement AI and machine learning frameworks to automate data validation, identify anomalies, and reduce manual effort during the "mock cutover" phases.

• Process Acceleration:

  Leverage automation tools to streamline the Custom Code remediation and financial closing activities specific to S/4HANA.

• Advanced Analytics:

  Use analytics to provide real-time visibility into migration risks and data quality metrics for executive stakeholders.

3. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Business Sign-Off:

  Act as the bridge between IT and the Office of the CFO, securing business buy-in for migration strategies and final cutover approvals.

• Global Delivery:

  Lead multi-functional, offshore/onsite teams, ensuring adherence to global templates while managing localized legal and tax requirements.

• Audit & Compliance:

  Ensure all migration activities comply with IFRS/GAAP standards and internal control frameworks (SOX).

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  12-15+ years in SAP FICO, with at least 3-4 full-cycle S/4HANA Finance migration projects in a Lead capacity.

• Migration Depth:

  Expert-level knowledge of

  SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT)

  , SNP Bluefield, or similar Selective Data Transition methodologies.

• Technical Skills:

  Mastery of Finance Conversion steps, New Asset Accounting, Ledger logic (Parallel/Leading), and Central Finance (cFin).

• Strategic Vision:

  Proven ability to incorporate

  Generative AI or RPA

  into the migration lifecycle to mitigate risk and increase speed-to-value.

• Education:

  CA, CPA, MBA Finance, or equivalent. SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification is highly preferred.

• Senior Manager / Director - SAP S/4HANA Finance Migration Lead to drive complex ECC to S/HANA Finance transformations across large, global enterprises.
• The role requires deep hands-on expertise in Finance migrations spanning Brownfield (System Conversion), Selective Data Transition (ST / Bluefield), and Mix-and-Match hybrid approaches, with full ownership of financial data integrity, audit readiness, and business sign-off.
• The ideal candidate combines strong SAP FICO migration depth with a forward-looking vision of how Al, automation, and advanced analytics can reduce migration risk, accelerate validation, and improve data quality.
