Role & responsibilities Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer Java & AWS Experience: 5 to 10 years Location: Any Xebia location ( Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Bhopal) Department: Technology / Engineering About the Role We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Java (17+) , microservices , and AWS cloud technologies . In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs that power mission-critical applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build resilient cloud-native services leveraging the latest tools and best practices in the AWS ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy backend services using Java 17 and Spring Boot , Quarkus , or equivalent frameworks. Build and manage microservices-based architecture with high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability. Work extensively with AWS Cloud services including but not limited to Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, CDK , and CloudWatch . Implement infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) or equivalent tools. Integrate databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL , or MongoDB , and ensure data consistency and security. Optimize application performance and ensure adherence to best practices in cloud-native development. Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and agile development ceremonies. Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and frontend teams to ensure seamless product delivery. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 and deep knowledge of object-oriented programming , concurrency , and RESTful services . Proven experience building and deploying microservices in a production environment. Proficiency in Spring Boot , Quarkus , or similar backend frameworks. Solid experience with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and CDK. Hands-on with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines , containerization (Docker), and source control (Git). AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect) is a plus . Kubernetes).
