Job Description

Job Overview:

Java Center of Excellence (DevCoE)

Key Responsibilities:

Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and performance benchmarks across
Java and Oracle development teams.
Architect, design, and develop scalable backend solutions using
Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
Lead Oracle database design, development, and performance tuning to support high-volume transactional systems.
Write and optimize complex
PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers,
and packages for mission-critical applications.
Collaborate with Solution
Architects, DBAs, DevOps, and QA teams
to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
Establish the
Java & Oracle DevCoE framework
for standardization, automation, and code quality governance.
Monitor application and database health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability and SLA adherence.
Report key metrics, risks, and roadmap progress to leadership and continuously drive process improvement.

Technical Skills:

Programming & Frameworks:

Core Java, J2EE, Spring / Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices (preferred)

Database Expertise:

Oracle 11g/12c/19c
Advanced PL/SQL, Query Optimization, Performance Tuning
Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, Packages

Tools & Platforms:

Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins (CI/CD)
WebLogic / Tomcat (optional)

Methodologies:

Agile, DevOps, SDLC Best Practices
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization capabilities

Experience:

8+ years of experience in Java backend development and Oracle database programming, with proven expertise in performance tuning, PL/SQL optimization, and leading Center of Excellence (CoE) initiatives for technical governance and process improvement.
