Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior IT Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and maintenance of the organizations IT systems and infrastructure. The role includes configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, managing IT assets, monitoring network performance, ensuring data security, and mentoring junior IT staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain server infrastructure (Windows/Linux), including cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, and Office 365 services.
  • Monitor network performance, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure optimal uptime and security.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and regular backups.
  • Provide Level 2 and 3 support for IT incidents, escalating issues where needed.
  • Manage endpoint security, anti-virus, and data loss prevention (DLP) tools.
  • Maintain and document IT processes, inventory, and configuration standards.
  • Support collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other unified communications platforms.
  • Lead IT onboarding/offboarding processes, access controls, and account provisioning.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and maintain SLAs.
  • Train and guide junior IT support staff.
  • Participate in IT audits and compliance activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in IT systems/network administration.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), or CompTIA (Network+/Security+).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in managing Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred, AWS is a plus).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with ITSM tools and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
  • Expertise in firewall, antivirus, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
  • Hands-on experience with endpoint management tools like Intune or SCCM.
