Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Skills -Cloud Compute & Platform)

Key Responsibilities:

Platform & Compute Engineering

• Design, implement, and support Azure compute services including Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, App Services, and AKS.
• Manage PaaS services such as Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
• Optimize compute performance, availability, and scaling strategies.
• Standardize golden images, baseline VM configurations, and automation for OS patching.
• Configure and manage storage accounts, managed disks, and backup/recovery services.
• Design and manage availability sets, availability zones, and multi-region DR strategies.
• Implement and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and remote access solutions.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

• Build and manage cloud resources using Terraform, Bicep, Python or ARM templates.
• Integrate compute deployments into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Automate platform operations, scaling, and monitoring.

Reliability & Operations

• Troubleshoot performance, capacity, and availability issues in compute workloads.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Support incident response and root cause analysis for compute-related issues.

Security & Governance

• Apply RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault integration, and encryption to platform services.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise governance and security policies.
• Implement Azure Policy and tagging standards for compute resources.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with solution architects to shape cloud compute designs aligned to business needs.
• Guide development and application teams on using PaaS/IaaS securely and efficiently.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cloud engineering best practices.
• Document designs, standards, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 68 years of IT/cloud engineering experience, with 5+ years in Azure compute & platform services.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
• Azure IaaS: VMs, VMSS, Availability Sets/Zones
• Azure PaaS: App Services, AKS, Functions, Service Bus, Logic Apps
• Identity integration with Azure AD/Entra ID and Managed Identities
• Solid experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates).
• Proficiency in automation/scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Understanding of cloud networking, load balancing, and hybrid integration.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting compute workloads.
• Knowledge of cost management and FinOps practices in Azure compute.
