Senior GCP Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline Engineering:

  Design and implement robust batch and streaming ingestion pipelines (Pub/Sub, API-driven) from core banking systems such as

  Silverlake, CIF/2020, Core Director, and Symitar

  .

• Data Architecture:

  Implement

  Medallion Architectures

  (Raw Curated Production/Gold) aligned to the Unity data model and BIAN/ISO20022 industry standards.

• Security & Masking:

  Integrate tokenization and

  Test Data Management (TDM)

  processes into pipelines for both production and non-production environments.

• Development & Automation:

  Build reusable patterns, templates, and modules using

  SQL, Python, and/or Go

  to accelerate pipeline delivery.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  Partner with architects, modelers, and BI developers to support Power BI dashboards, MDM golden records, and data science use cases.

• Reliability & Monitoring:

  Implement logging, alerting, and monitoring for performance and data quality, ensuring

  idempotency and replay

  capabilities.

• Mentorship:

  Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior members of the data engineering team.

Unique Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Platform Expertise:

  6+ years in Data Engineering, with at least

  3+ years dedicated to GCP

  .

• GCP Stack Mastery:

  Deep expertise with

  BigQuery, DataFlow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, and DataPlex

  .

• Programming:

  Proficiency in SQL and a strong command of

  Python or Go

  .

• Domain Knowledge:

  Experience handling high-volume financial/transactional data and event-driven architectures.

• Data Modeling:

  Strong familiarity with medallion architectures and modeling for advanced analytics.

• Integrations:

  Preferred experience integrating with BI platforms (

  Power BI, Microsoft Fabric

  ) and MDM solutions.

Education & Experience

• Education:

  Engineering Graduate or equivalent.

• Experience:

  6+ years of relevant experience.
