As a highly motivated and experienced Senior FPGA Researcher at Vicharak, you will play a crucial role in advancing the performance, efficiency, and capabilities of FPGA-based computing platforms. Your main responsibilities will include: - **FPGA Architecture Research**: Conducting research and designing high-performance, power-efficient FPGA architectures tailored for accelerating cutting-edge AI/ML models (e.g., CNNs, Transformers) and real-time control systems. - **Toolchain Development & Optimization**: Collaborating with the software team to enhance and extend the capabilities of proprietary toolchains (Gati, Periplex) to improve performance, latency, and resource utilization for generated hardware logic. - **Low-Level Implementation**: Designing, implementing, and verifying critical IP cores and system components using traditional Hardware Description Languages (HDL: Verilog/VHDL) and High-Level Synthesis (HLS) techniques. - **Performance Analysis**: Developing and implementing methodologies for benchmarking and profiling FPGA designs, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing the hardware-software stack. - **System Integration**: Overseeing the integration of complex FPGA designs within the complete system, ensuring seamless interaction with embedded processors (like ARM/RISC-V) and operating systems (like embedded Linux). - **Innovation & Publication**: Staying updated on the latest FPGA technology, computer architecture, and AI acceleration developments, proposing innovative solutions, and contributing to patents or publications. **Required Qualifications**: - **Education**: Masters degree or Ph.D. in ECE, VLSI, or a related field. - **Experience**: 0 to 3 years of industry experience in FPGA design, architecture, and research, particularly for high-performance computing or embedded systems. - **Core FPGA Skills**: Expert-level proficiency in Verilog/VHDL and a deep understanding of advanced FPGA features (DSPs, BRAMs, UltraRAM, specialized routing). - **Tool Flow Expertise**: Hands-on experience with major vendor tool flows (e.g., Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Intel Quartus) and synthesis, placement, and routing optimization techniques. - **Acceleration**: Proven experience in designing hardware accelerators for parallel data processing, signal processing, or AI/ML inference. - **HLS**: Strong background in using High-Level Synthesis (HLS) tools to map algorithms to efficient hardware structures. - **System Knowledge**: Understanding of computer architecture, memory hierarchies, and interface protocols (e.g., PCIe, AXI, DDR).
