Project description
We are looking for an experienced ETL QA Engineer with 7-10 years of hands-on experience in manual, database, and ETL testing. You have to possess strong SQL skills, a deep understanding of data validation techniques, and experience testing across the full data lifecycle. This role requires someone capable of developing and executing detailed test plans, contributing to test strategies, and working across multiple phases of the software development lifecycle.Having additional exposure to test automation, BI validation (e.g., Tableau), and experience in the banking domain are preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform manual testing of data pipelines, ETL jobs, and backend logic across structured and semi-structured data environments.

Conduct ETL/data validation testing by writing complex SQL queries to validate business rules and data transformations.

Review and understand business requirements, functional specs, and data mappings to ensure complete test coverage.

Execute various testing types including Smoke Testing, Functional Testing, System Testing, Regression Testing, Usability Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Design and maintain comprehensive test plans, detailed test cases, and test scenarios using industry best practices.

Develop or contribute to the overall test strategy and ensure alignment with project goals and quality standards.

Estimate testing effort for modules or entire projects and assist in resource planning and risk assessment.

Work closely with developers, business analysts, and data engineers to troubleshoot and resolve defects.

Skills
Must have

Experience of manual, ETL, and database testing(good in writing SQL queries and understanding logic) throughout full development lifecycle.

Experience of testing in Banking/Financial/Payment domain, with especial emphasis on previous working experience on SWIFT/ISO testing.

Well versed with UI Testing and its concepts.

Testing experience includes Smoke testing, Functional Testing, System Testing, Regression Testing, Usability Testing, User Acceptance Testing.

Experience in writing/contributing to a test strategy.

Experience in writing detailed, structured test scripts using best practice design principles.

Experience in providing estimations for a set of modules/projects and suggesting a resource plan.
