Job Description

Role Overview: As an outside plant designer in the engineering and design team, your role will involve creating area plans, detailed designs, and documentation following engineering standards for cost-optimized designs. It is crucial to ensure the quality and timely delivery of area planning, detailed designs, and documentation. Safety considerations such as health, environmental, and heritage issues should be incorporated into the designs. Identifying risks and mitigating them through due diligence, seeking feedback from senior designers, and providing recommendations for process improvement will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, assisting the team in optimizing design rules and effectively communicating area plans and detailed design deliverables are key aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities: - Create area plans, detailed designs, and documentation based on engineering standards for cost-optimized designs. - Ensure quality and timely delivery of area planning, detailed designs, and documentation. - Incorporate safety considerations in designs, addressing health, environmental, and heritage issues. - Identify risks in designs and mitigate them through due diligence. - Seek feedback from senior designers and recommend improvements in planning and design procedures. - Assist the team in providing inputs for process improvement and optimizing design rules. - Ensure effective communication of area plans and detailed design deliverables. Qualifications Required: - 5 to 10 years of experience in planning, design, and detailed documentation of OSP and ISP communications networks. - Understanding of Core, Transport, Distribution, and Access networks across various technologies. - Knowledge of aerial, underground, and intra-building design standards. - Experience in MDU design, aerial design, Pole Make Ready designs, IFP design, permits, and CDs is advantageous. - Proficiency in GIS-related platforms such as AutoCAD Map 3D, Ocalc, SpidaCalc, Quick Pole, and others. - Experience in ensuring timely delivery and approval of area plans and detailed designs. - Strong quality checking skills, providing feedback to the team, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs.,
