Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Arcadis, you will play a crucial role in contributing your skills to a variety of water and wastewater projects for clients regionally and across the UK. Your responsibilities will include: - Ability to self-start and work independently or as part of a team to produce, review, or approve mechanical design deliverables. - Leading and supporting design and advisory services for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets. - Ensuring safety through design leadership and actions. - Technical delivery in a multi-disciplinary team environment, using the latest digital design processes. - Collaborating with various teams to identify and develop innovative technical solutions based on client needs. - Establishing and nurturing relationships with clients and partners on technical, commercial, and progress aspects of projects. - Supervising the design team to ensure high-quality project delivery within budget and schedule. - Working closely with other design disciplines to ensure overall design integrity. - Ensuring projects meet technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards. - Promoting team capability and achievements internally and externally. - Coaching and mentoring junior staff. - Compliance with Arcadis Health and Safety standards. - Promoting and sharing project achievements and developments internally. Qualifications & Experience: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. - 10+ years of experience in designing mechanical and process equipment for water supply, treatment plants, sewerage systems, and drainage systems. - Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with membership in a relevant professional institution. - Experience in digital design platforms, BIM, and data analytics software. - Knowledge of quality management systems and project team management. - Familiarity with relevant British Standards. - Strong oral, visual, and written communication skills in English.
