Senior Engineer/Assistant Manager - Civil Designs

As a Solar Civil Design Engineer, your role will involve shaping the civil and structural aspects of solar PV projects from concept and design to construction support. Your attention to detail, collaborative nature, and passion for clean energy infrastructure make you an ideal candidate for this position. Key Responsibilities: - Perform site evaluations including topography, soil conditions, drainage, grading, and erosion control to inform civil design strategies. - Generate site prep drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for grading plans, access roads, foundations, cable trenches, drainage systems, and landscaping. - Produce staking plans for surveyors to mark foundations, road alignment, cable routes, and panel arrays. - Design civil foundations tailored to site conditions, selecting methods like ballasted, driven, helical, or drilled piles. - Develop tree clearing, grubbing, and erosion control plans ensuring environmental compliance. - Integrate civil designs with electrical, structural, and mechanical systems, collaborating closely with engineers and project managers. - Support during pre-construction and construction phases by performing site visits, resolving design queries, conducting inspections, and ensuring implementation aligns with approved drawings. - Ensure compliance with standards, codes, permits, environmental and zoning regulations. - Prepare detailed drawings, BOQs, civil specs, RFQs, scope documents, reports, and site logs. - Contribute to civil cost estimates and budgets; support procurement and contractor coordination. - Refine and optimize civil design tools, templates, and workflows for efficiency and quality. Required Skills & Experience: - Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters preferred). - Experience in civil/site engineering, including experience in renewable energy or solar PV projects. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D; STAAD Pro or similar structural tools; Microsoft Excel/Project. - Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, site grading, stormwater, drainage, foundations, access roads. - Knowledge of environmental/stormwater regulations, zoning, construction codes, geotech interpretation. - Willingness to travel (often 30-50%) for site visits and construction oversight. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with solar-focused civil foundations and PV structure integration. - Familiarity with environmental permitting and site prep processes. - Knowledge of value engineering in civil design to optimize cost, schedule, and performance.,
