Senior Engineer - Process Automation (Siemens)

Role Overview: As a Senior Automation Engineer at Wood India Consulting division, you will be responsible for supporting the UK team with your automation engineering expertise in modern automation and control applications. You will have the opportunity to work on dynamic projects as part of an international service line, primarily focusing on PLCs like Rockwell and Siemens, as well as Open Source SCADA types. Key Responsibilities: - Develop detailed design specifications, user requirement qualifications, cable specifications, alarm management philosophy, instrument index development, control narrative, and I/O schedule in accordance with industry standards - Review vendor drawings and consolidate comments from other disciplines - Participate in inter-discipline reviews of deliverables from other departments - Contribute to material requisition and technical bid evaluation - Provide expertise in at least one automation technical area such as PLC, SCADA, cyber security, or network design - Identify, define, and implement automation and controls requirements/solutions for clients - Support the Lead Engineer in achieving project objectives - Apply integration concepts to various systems and vendor platforms - Engineer technical aspects of automation project design and implementation - Prepare engineering studies and software design documentation - Resolve specialty-related engineering issues using accepted principles, codes, and standards - Support program inputs and updates Qualifications Required: - Previous experience in a project delivery environment - Competency in automation and control engineering - Proficiency in PLCs like Rockwell, Siemens, and Open Source SCADA types software - Experience with multiple system implementation projects and control system platforms - Knowledge of addressable F&G systems (desirable) - Familiarity with Microsoft SQL - Understanding of engineering practices, methodologies, economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications - Strong knowledge of modern automation and control applications, tools, and methodologies - Excellent planning, organizing, and execution skills Additional Details: Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, with a focus on unlocking solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
