Senior Engineer - Power System Consulting

As a Senior Engineer - Power System Consulting at ETAP, you will be responsible for providing electrical power system consulting and engineering support services to clients worldwide. Your role will involve using power system software such as ETAP, PSCAD, CDEGS, or equivalent tools to perform power system analysis, design and review electrical systems, troubleshoot electrical site issues, and lead the engineering efforts for projects. You will also be tasked with developing the technical competency of junior team members and ensuring the application of relevant international standards in various projects. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: - Lead and execute engineering studies in areas such as power system studies, electromagnetic switching transient studies, and electromagnetic interference (EMI/EMC) studies. - Provide engineering recommendations for the design, operation, and optimization of electrical systems based on study outcomes. - Review electrical systems including power distribution networks, industrial control systems, and renewable energy installations to ensure compliance with international standards. - Manage project scope to ensure timely completion of deliverables within allocated man-hours. - Troubleshoot electrical issues and offer technical support to clients for effective resolution. - Respond to technical queries from clients and provide clear, accurate, and timely information. - Prepare and deliver professional reports, presentations, and workshops tailored to project requirements and client expectations. Qualifications, Experience & Skills: To be eligible for this position, you should have: - A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field from a recognized university or institution. - At least 10 years of experience in power system study projects, preferably in a consulting environment. - Proficiency in the fundamental principles of electrical engineering and knowledge of electrical products and their workings. - Hands-on experience in conducting power system studies, electromagnetic switching transient studies, and EMI/EMC studies. - Knowledge/exposure to renewable energy source studies and grid-connected systems. - Experience using ETAP, PSCAD, CDEGS, or equivalent software for power system studies. - Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations. - Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and proactive approach in project management. - Computer skills related to the creation of reports and presentations. - Good communication and report writing skills. Additional Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of Python, MATLAB coding, etc. - Experience in the design and implementation of renewable energy systems.
