Senior Engineer - Cloud Operations

Cloud Engineer who transitioned from a Database Administrator DBA) role, you will leverage your expertise in databases and combine it with cloud technology knowledge to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions for our organization. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing databases in cloud environments, while also focusing on broader cloud infrastructure management, automation, and scalability. Your deep understanding of databases, coupled with your cloud engineering skills, will enable you to drive efficient and resilient cloud solutions that align with business goals.

Skills Required

• Minimum of 6+ years as a database administrator, should have experience on multiple databases like Oracle DBA, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc..
• Minimum of 2+yrs recent experience on Oracle DBA is mandatory.
• Any cloud experience will be highly desired, AW/GCP/Azure
• Should have hands-on experience on database performance monitoring and tuning
• Strong understanding of database security concepts and best practices.
• Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Should have hands-on experience on High availability and clustering.

Role and Responsibilities

• Database Backup and archival process
• Securing the databases is always the first priority.
• Setting up the backup strategies as per the RPO.
• Database performance tuning.
• Recovering the database from the Disaster recovery
• Planning and execution for database patches & upgrades,
• Migration for new database releases and platforms.
• Implement and migrate database from on-prem to cloud.
• Document procedure, plan and best practices for database administration operations.
• Perform root cause analysis of database issues.
• Adhere to policies and procedures pertaining to the database management, security, maintenance and utilization.
• Provide on-call and technical support as required, will be part of an shifts on rotational basis.
