Job Description

General Summary:
  • We are seeking a talented developer to join our Automotive Platform Middleware (APM) team at Qualcomm. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing a wide range of middleware components within the APM stack, including but not limited to the Automotive Compute Framework (ACF) and Automotive Compute Services (ACS). This role is central to building scalable, high-performance middleware for next-generation automotive platforms, enabling advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), cockpit, and cloud accelerator solutions.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain middleware components for ACF and ACS as part of the Qualcomm Automotive Platform Middleware.
  • Implement and optimize compute graph frameworks, APIs, and service extensions for Automotive Services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, hardware, safety, and customer engineering) to define and deliver robust middleware solutions.
  • Integrate and validate zero-copy memory management, inter-process communication (IPC), and synchronization mechanisms.
  • Contribute to the development of diagnostics, logging, health monitoring, and tracing services within ACS.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Support integration of ACF/ACS with customer pipelines and third-party stacks, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., S-CORE, Adaptive AUTOSAR).
  • Document designs, APIs, and workflows for internal and external developer enablement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in automotive or middleware domains.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming; experience with Python or scripting languages is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux, QNX, or other RTOS), IPC, and multi-threaded programming.
  • Experience with middleware frameworks, service-oriented architectures, or compute graph frameworks.
  • Familiarity with hardware accelerators (CPU, GPU, NPU, DSP) and their integration in heterogeneous compute environments.
  • Knowledge of memory management, buffer synchronization, and zero-copy techniques.
  • Exposure to automotive standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, S-CORE) and safety/security concepts is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Qualcomm automotive platforms or similar SoCs.
  • Hands-on experience with middleware frameworks like AutoSAR.
  • Understanding diagnostics, logging, health monitoring, and tracing in embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools for profiling, performance analysis, and system monitoring.
  • Knowledge of ADAS/AD software stacks, camera/radar/lidar integration, and automotive networking (CAN, Ethernet).
