Senior Director of Software Engineering

Role Overview: As a Lead Software Manager at BBY India, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams focusing on software products with company-wide impacts and outcomes. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to provide strategic direction for the team and associated product area, ensuring alignment with organizational and portfolio goals. Coaching and developing managers, senior managers, and associate directors on their team will also be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for your teams and identify opportunities for improvement in how the teams work. Key Responsibilities: - Lead multiple teams responsible for software products with company-wide impacts and outcomes, in partnership with key stakeholders - Provide strategic direction for the team and associated product area, ensuring alignment with organizational and portfolio goals - Coach and develop managers, senior managers, and associate directors on their team - Ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for their teams and identify opportunities for improvement - Conduct 1:1s with direct reports and skip-level discussions for team members - Work with product teams to prioritize and scope work - Ability to triage and manage complex, high-pressure production issues - Contribute to architecture to ensure it matches business needs - Demonstrate a test/learn/iterate mindset - Connect the larger organization's strategic goals directly to their team's tactical goals Qualification Required: - 12+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience - 6+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams - 1+ years of managing managers - 2+ years of experience leading projects using React Native, React JS, Node.js, and related frameworks - 2+ years of leading teams using agile engineering and planning practices - 3+ years of experience with designing, building, and maintaining high traffic, mission-critical systems - 2+ years of experience using Java, Spring - 2+ years of system design using Akamai, GraphQL, and caching strategies,
