Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new valves and improvement of existing valve products for Oliver Valves, Hydco and Oliver Twinsafe.
  • Carry out engineering production orders for Oliver Twinsafe products under Engineering Manager supervision.
  • Supporting Chennai factory for any production equipment drawings (test flanges, tools, test setup, etc.) and production assembly & test issues
  • Support purchasing team on any supplier non-conformance request and any technical clarifications/improvements with supplier development.
  • Assist quality team for any OVIL Factory audits that involve technical queries and findings (i.e. API, ISO, Client audits, etc.)
  • Creation of new OTS, OVL & Hydco valve designs based on Sales market demands and approved DO requirements which will be manufactured in UK or Chennai Factory as a R&D order.
  • Technical lead in the valve design modification of existing design to meet client requirements.
  • Perform Technical Reviews of client technical specifications or Industry standards.
  • Creation of general arrangement (GA) valve drawings using Solidworks or AutoCad.
  • Creation of valve components machining drawings using Solidworks or AutoCad.
  • Creation of Bill of materials, including production operations and handling using company ERP system (i.e. Syteline).
  • Assist OTS production orders as and when workload in OTS engineering is high
  • Review of project order ITP to ensure all technical inspection activities are align with the order requirements.
  • Creation of any new or addendums to engineering work procedures that governs the production operation activities to align with order requirements (i.e. assembly procedures, factory acceptance test procedures, etc.).
  • Technical lead in creating design sketches and generating costing BOMs to Assist sales with enquiries/quotations for regional projects.
  • Handling of supplier concessions with QA and purchasing departments.
  • Generating calculations for various valve design work or production orders.
  • Run simple Solidworks simulation FEA static analysis study.
  • Understanding FEA analysis report generated by team members and to refine the valve design based on the FEA analysis findings.
  • Supporting Chennai factory on any R&D order or Production orders for Oliver Twinsafe to ensure all manufacturing operations are carried out smoothly. (i.e. Creation of production equipment drawings (test flanges, tools, test setup, etc.), creation of any rework/modification drawings and troubleshoot any assembly/test issues, etc.)
  • Support OVIL factory to carry out annual surveillance audit compliance involving engineering department processes and technical manufacturing guidelines.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong engineering knowledge in pressure vessels and manufacturing activities, preferrable in valve design & manufacturing.

  • Utilisation of Solidworks and Autocad for engineering software and company ERP system (preferrable Syteline) to streamline workflows.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD software
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience from valve manufacturing companies in the engineering department, where work experience includes:

- Executing engineering department work deliverables (creating and checking of GA drawings, machining drawings, bom creation, assembly/test procedures, etc.)

- Creating and/or modifying valve designs

- Working with other departments (Sales, Purchasing, Production & Quality) to resolve or carry out valve engineering deliverables

- Strong valve manufacturing knowledge, from understanding of Industry standards (API 6D, API 6A, API 6DSS, IOGP S562, IOGP S563, MESC SPE, Total GS, etc.) to applying them into the valve designs (Floating ball & Trunnion ball (DBB and Single isolate valves) and Needle valves) and valve engineering processes (i.e. GA drawings, machining component drawings, bom operations and manufacturing processes such as NDE & inspection activities, testing or any special machining/in-house operations).

  • Several years of working experience carrying out annual surveillance audit compliance (API, ISO, etc.) for engineering department.
  • Several years of working experience utilizing company ERP system (preferrable Syteline) to streamline workflows.
