Senior Database Engineer (Large-Scale Database)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Database Engineer to design, program, and

manage large-scale, distributed database systems. The role demands expertise in optimizing

database structures and utilizing advanced query optimization techniques for efficient

processing of vast datasets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of distributed

database management, scalability, and performance tuning.

Skills Required:

• SQL: Proficiency in SQL for large database management, including query optimization, T-SQL,

table creation, stored procedures, functions, views, DML/DDL, indexing, and complex query

writing.

• Distributed Databases: Expert knowledge in the design and management of distributed databases

(DDB).

• Knowledge of other Database Technologies: Knowledge of KDB+, ClickHouse, TimeScaleDB,

InfluxDB, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL with Citus, MongoDB, MySQL etc.

• Programming Languages: Knowledge of C/C++ and C#.

Professional Experience:

• Proven track record in designing and managing large-scale, distributed database systems.
• Strong programming background with practical experience in performance tuning and

optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Implement Large-Scale Data:

• Architect and manage distributed database systems to handle large-scale data.
• Develop strategies for data distribution and replication to ensure high availability and reliability.

2. Develop and Optimize Complex Queries:

• Create and refine complex queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
• Implement query optimization techniques to enhance performance.

3. Database Structure Optimization:

• Optimize database structures to improve processing speed and storage efficiency.
• Continuously monitor and tune database performance..

4. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

• Identify and resolve issues related to large-scale data processing.
• Ensure the integrity and security of the database systems.

5. C/C++ Application:

• Build high-performance data processing applications in C/C++.
• Develop efficient algorithms and data structures to handle large-scale data processing tasks.

6. Collaboration:

• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements.
• Deliver appropriate data solutions to meet business needs.
