In your role as a Data Scientist at Amgen, your responsibilities will include: - Leading the full lifecycle of Data Science projects and guiding data scientists in developing solutions - Supporting transformation initiatives such as Amgen Gross to Net and other V&A projects - Ensuring models are trained with the latest data and meet SLA expectations - Managing the AI tools roadmap with a global cross-functional team - Working on development, deployment, and application of analytics solutions - Utilizing technical skills like hypothesis testing, machine learning, and data mining techniques - Overseeing the efforts of associates and setting performance standards - Collaborating with technical teams to translate business needs into technical specifications - Developing custom applications, intelligent dashboards, and automated workflows with AI capabilities The must-have skills for this role include: - Experience with analytic software tools like R and Python - Strong foundation in machine learning algorithms and techniques - Experience in statistical techniques, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, clustering, and classification Good-to-have skills for this role are: - Experience in MLOps practices and tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, and Airflow - Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn - Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly, and excellent communication skills - Experience with data engineering, NLP techniques, time-series data analysis, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud - Experience with Databricks platform for data analytics and MLOps While not mandatory, the following certifications are preferred for this role: - Any AWS Developer certification - Any Python and ML certification Additionally, some soft skills that will be beneficial in this role include: - Initiative to explore alternate technology solutions - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Effective communication skills and ability to work in global, virtual teams - Self-motivation, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a focus on achieving team goals To qualify for this role, you should have a Master's degree in computer science, statistics, or STEM majors with a minimum of 5 years of Information Systems experience, or a Bachelor's degree in the same fields with a minimum of 7 years of Information Systems experience.
